Hi Pal,
Two Song Spotlights in one day is a bit wild, but it just happens to be that type of day.
My Review
I approached this song with a bias because I already have a soft spot for reimagined hymns of any kind, but I still wasn’t prepared for how good it was.
Lyrically, anyone familiar with the classic hymn already knows what they are getting from this song. The treasure is in the execution and delivery. From the relaxing lofi instrumental background to Jen Jarvis’ soothing soulful rendition of the tune; this version carries a distinct ambience that keeps you in tune with the hymn’s message from start to finish.
I tend to be fascinated by new projects and voices on the scene. This is one of those rare cases where my enthusiasm matches the quality on display and I’m looking forward to more reimagined hymns and original tunes.

Meet Jen Jarvis
Jen Jarvis is a gifted UK-based singer, songwriter, and worship leader, known for blending soulful, beat-based music with deeply personal and faith-filled lyrics. After more than 15 years performing under the band name Seeker, Jen has re-launched her music journey under her name. Her songs, often co-written with her husband, Adam, offer hope, encouragement, and a sense of peace, especially for those navigating life's toughest seasons—a reflection of her journey through hardship and faith.
Her music is deeply rooted in her love for Christ, yet Jen’s vision extends beyond the church, aiming to speak to listeners from all walks of life. Raised in church and shaped by a community rich in music and faith, Jen has always understood the power of music and sung worship. After over a decade of leading worship, writing and performing in mainstream venues, Jen felt called to share her faith more openly through her releases. She says “Music is about pointing people to Jesus, whether through worship music or mainstream music. We have a unique position and privilege to point toward the creator through the music we make”.
Despite personal challenges—raising children with additional needs and her journey with ADHD, the loss of her mother, and the daily struggles of living in a fast-paced and tumultuous world—Jen’s music continues to be infused with a deep sense of God's faithfulness and closeness. Rather than being defined by these trials, Jen views them as part of her unique story, believing that God equips us for the calling on our lives, despite any personal limitations.
Jen’s music is a testament to faith, resilience, and creativity. Whether leading worship in church or sharing her songs with the world, her mission is to encourage others to keep their eyes fixed on Jesus. Through her music, she seeks to offer light and hope, helping people encounter God in a fresh, real way.
Song Inspiration
I chose to reimagine Amazing Grace as my debut release because I’ve always loved it, and it’s such a powerful hymn with a timeless message of forgiveness and redemption. I wanted to capture the emotion of the hymn in the music itself, using laid-back, lofi, chillhop sounds, and adding a new chorus to offer listeners a fresh reminder of God’s amazing grace.
My current focus is on a series of lofi-inspired hymns that have impacted my life, pointing me toward Jesus and providing strength in difficult times. These reimagined hymns, arranged and produced by my husband, carry a gentle, reflective tone that invites listeners into a place of devotional worship and healing.
