Give Us The Album, Please!
Five artists and projects that I can't wait to hear a full-length release from.
Rapid Recommendations is a segment I’ve created for quick short-form content that changes depending on the title.
Today’s episode focuses on folks who may have dropped singles or EPs within the last couple of years but are yet to release a debut album.
That’s enough chit chat. Let’s get to it.
Medical Morning
I never thought I’d hear the words ‘Christian and ‘shoegaze’ in the same sentence but Medical Morning managed to change that. With one EP and a couple of singles out, I need to hear more from this project.
Recommendation: Ghost Riot, Vol. 1 (EP)
Port Duo
I’ve been fascinated by this sibling duo from the day I found them. So far, they have dropped a few singles that interpret worship using familiar indie rock grooves. I can’t wait for what they do next.
Recommendation: Treasure, War Is Going On (Singles)
Rachael Skrobot
No one on this list fills me with dread as much as Rachael does. This is partly because I sense that we may never get an album from her in the near future. Still, her soulful vocals layered on folky ambience are some of the best I have heard from 2020.
Recommendation: The Voyage Series (Singles)
Rewth
Rewth is a singer-songwriter from Costa Rica who has piqued my interest from the first song I heard. Her interesting blend of indie-pop/dream pop entwined with a soulful tang is something I need more of.
Recommendation: Kaleidoscope (EP)
Victus
This project by Sam Sterk is brimming with potential and needless to say, I’m here for the ride. Weaving indie rock with dream pop and shoegaze-inspired sounds to create a soothing atmosphere is something that I will always approve of.
Recommendation: EP1 (EP)
That’s it, folks.
Until next time.
Keep listening!
