Monthly Recap for March 2023
Anna Palfreeman, Jonny Henninger, Christopher Galovan and more.
Hi Pal.
Welcome to the monthly wrap for March! The Monthly Wrap is a monthly newsletter where I give a rundown of my favourite musical highlights of the past month.
Under The Lights
Without a doubt, March has been the most eventful music release month of the year so far. Christopher Galovan begins this list with Holding On To Hope (Deluxe), an ambient piano album that acts as an expanded edition of an EP from 2022 of the same name. Anna Palfreeman also dropped her debut album, Certain; the singer-songwriter blends pop with occasional indie and synth infusions to create a solid work of art. what to look for by Rob Ray was a pleasant surprise earlier in the month, an album that continues his signature indie folk/indie pop sound in style.
Jonny Henninger’s So Much To Say (Pt. 1) is one of the most interesting releases of 2023 so far, fusing electronica with alternative R&B and trip-hop sounds. I can’t wait for the other instalments of the project. Seven Lamps by For Tuesday is another EP that has taken my attention in March - even with some of the tracks being released before this month. We got the long-awaited Indwelling EP by Context and it’s already a standout Metalcore/Deathcore project this year. And last but not least, we got the Living Water EP from singer-songwriter Andrew Osenga, a sweet blend of heartland rock, alternative folk and a splash of gospel.

On The Horizon
Praise Lubangu: A few days ago, the singer-songwriter launched a Kickstarter for her new album project and announced it via her Instagram page. Check out the details there or you can simply go straight to the donation page here.
Jonathan Allen Wright: By the time you read this, JAW will already have released his new single ‘all the ways that I fail you’. What you may not know is that this song is the first release from a brand-new album that should drop sometime this year.
Civilized Creature: Again, by the time you read this, Civilized Creature would have three his third single off his upcoming EP. Hopefully, we get details on when to expect the final songs soon.
That’s it for today.
See you in April.
