The Monthly Wrap | 10 | November
Inside: Young Oceans, Ronnie Martin, IMRSQD, RED Hands and more.
Hi Pal.
Welcome to the monthly wrap for November. The Monthly Wrap is a monthly newsletter where I give a rundown of my favourite musical highlights of the past month.
Stick around for the updated playlist at the end. Also, you can check out the singles and albums on all platforms using the embedded links on the titles.
Under The Lights
One of the ways I can tell that we’re coming to the end of the year is the amount of Christmas music that starts popping up on my release radar from the month of November. Somehow this month was able to provide much more than that for me. Here are 10 projects from November that I love.
The Welcome Wagon and Young Oceans kicked things off with two of the best folk projects of the year — in my opinion. Esther is an indie folk concept album that sees TWW make a long-awaited return after a brief hiatus. On Subjects In Motion, Young Oceans collaborates with some of the best voices in Christian indie singer-songwriter to craft a soothing art folk album.
RED Hands, my favourite soul-funk band, also made a comeback with their new release titled The Family Album. Getting us into the Christmas spirit, we have Come Behold: Christmas Collaborations by Celtic Worship, christmas hymns EP by the quiet hours & Andrew Osenga and A Merry Little Christmas by Jonathan Allen Wright.
Closing out this list are four ambient releases: The Sea Remains The Sea by inamomentimalive, Sounds For Sleep EP by Raphah, fathoms EP by We Dream of Eden and Before the Stars Have Left the Skies EP by Dear Gravity & Salt Of The Sound.
