Hi Pal,
I’m hoping you’ve had a great week so far. Thanks for checking out today’s newsletter.
I originally had nothing planned for today, but as it usually goes for me, my greatest inspiration for writing here is music. I had a busy day and was a tad emotionally overwhelmed.
As I tend to do every Friday, I checked out the new music releases for the day. They helped ease some of my burnout and I thought I’d share them with you.
II: WAVES OF BEING HUMAN by Crafted Child
Experimental Indie, Synthpop, Fusion Pop
This is Crafted Child’s third album and is the second part of their 2022 release, I: BRIGHTER BELIEVER. Their debut album, Wild, introduced me to them as a band that leaned heavily into synths and strong electronic rock sensibilities. By 2022, they began expanding the boundaries of that sonic palette with some experimentation and this new album feels like the culmination of that process. It’s pretty incredible from start to finish and I’ve had it on repeat all day.
Favourites at the moment: GARDEN; H-U-M-A-N; missing my step
Love Me All The Same by Braden Drake
Psychedelic Pop
I’ve been expecting this album for a while now and it’s finally here. It’s ridiculous that we are on album three because Braden Drake still feels so new to the scene. Every album has improved on the last in musicality, vocals and production. Admittedly, I am still emotionally connected to his 2024 album, The Picture You Painted, but I’m sure I’d develop similar attachments to this one when I spend more time with it.
