Hi Pal,
Welcome to this edition of Right Now, a newsletter where I list some recently released tunes that I love and give you reasons to love them too.
The Precipice by Dear Gravity, We Dream of Eden
Ambient, Post-Rock
Mike Graff (Dear Gravity)
and Kirk Smith (We Dream of Eden)
are my favourite artists in the ambient scene. Every collaboration from them always raises their individual interpretations of cinematic post-rock and ambient music to new heights because they have such good chemistry. The Precipice is yet another example of this.

nearness by solae
lo-fi
Every year, I’m always looking forward to new music from solae
. Every project or release from them sounds incredibly unique. On this tune, there is a lovely balance between the organic sounds of the acoustic guitar and the synthetic sounds of the lo-fi production. This simple composition choice gives nearness a soothing and comforting feel.

Viewfinder by Amng Wlvs
Synthwave, Pop
Amng Wlvs
deserve more attention than they have gotten because their sound is so distinct. Unlike some of their more upbeat tunes, Viewfinder is a mellow song that gives the lyrics an opportunity to shine and permeate, while still maintaining their signature sound.

Time to Walk by William Cata, ATTAM
Hip-Hop
I’ve listened to a number of albums from William Cata
and he is quite eclectic. However, my favourite songs from him are the ones that pay homage to 90s hip-hop. Time to Walk falls into this category perfectly, balanced with smooth horns, groovy bass lines and a relaxing flow and cadence from William Cata and ATTAM
.

Seven Lamps by For Tuesday
Indie Folk
I have a soft spot for concept songs and albums. When these songs or albums are directly lifted from the Bible, my love tends to deepen. For Tuesday
is a project that I am relatively new to but can’t wait to explore. Seven Lamps is a song about Zechariah’s vision in the Bible and I’ve never heard this encounter so creatively presented. It’s a brilliant song.

Closure by Jemimah Paine
Pop
I’ve already shared my thoughts on this tune earlier in the month which you can read here. Still, this song carries a strong emotional core that I believe will bring encouragement to everyone who gives it a chance.
